The Garmin G1000 is a integrated flight display system manufactured by Garmin. It is one of the most widely-installed glass cockpits in general aviation.
Configuration[]
In its most basic configuration the Garmin G1000 consists of one primary flight display and one multi-function display which together replace most common traditional flight instruments and gauges. In larger and more expensive installations, a second PFD may be installed for use by a co-pilot.
A physical keyboard can be installed to provide easier data entry for the crew. An integrated flight director can also be installed to interface with a Garmin GFC 700 autopilot, either with or without VNAV support.
Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)[]
History[]
- The G1000 NXi is now the default G1000 in the simulator! This brings a number of features to the G1000, taking it close to the real NXi unit, including: VNAV, procedure turns, holds, arc legs, visual approaches, accurate autopilot/modes, full RNAV, and much, much more.
- Important G1000 NXi Note: The G1000 NXi is now default in SU10, however it will only display in default sim aircraft equipped with the G1000. To enable the G1000 NXi in third party G1000-equipped aircraft, please install and/or update the version of the G1000 NXi available from the Marketplace to ensure you have v0.14.
